Chocolate Models - Can Chocolate Make You Brighter?

There are numerous kinds of chocolate models to choose from. The variety of chocolate is truly only where your mind limits you. Yes, society continues to master chocolate. Chocolate dates back to approximately 1100 BC when it's earliest use was recorded. It comes from many raw and processed foods produced from seeds of the tropical cacao tree. Cacoa has been cultivated for a least three millennia, and there's so much variety to choose from, you could spend your life testing it all and finding a favorite! You just don't need to declare a particular chocolate model a favorite, just enjoy them all!

A rewarding experience may be the "hunt" alone for your favorite chocolate, or so it seems. Searching and trying all sorts of different kinds can be a tough task, well maybe not that tough for some people!  Although it may seem fun to eat over two hundred different kinds of chocolate, you may just decide to slim down that list a bit.

To name a few, you can choose from

Belgian Chocolate
Milk Chocolate
Dark Chocolate
Chocolate Bars
Chocolate Fudge
Chocolate Truffels
Sugar-Free Chocolate
Organic Chocolate
Chocolate Fondue

and the list of chocolate models and types goes on!

Chocolate Candy Can Help You Study

Remember the study where a scientist named Pavlov taught a dog to connect the ringing of a bell with feeding time? The ringing bell could cause the dog to eat, and eventually that ringing caused the dog to relate it to feeding time. Well, that was a major breakthrough in how our brains work; even though the study was done on a dog. We too can be taught to associate certain things and these associations can be used to remember things, such as when studying for a test. Apparently you can use chocolate candy to help you get better grades on a test or just better grades in general? How? The smell and taste of chocolate candy is such a strong one that it can be used as a mental marker to help you remember things you normally wouldn't easily be able to. Every chocolate model you can ponder up can be used to bring about this result. Pick your favorite; chocolate mints, chocolate bars, chocolate covered strawberries, whatever you want!

Just the Smell of Chocolate

Let's say for example that you're studying for a math exam. You have to remember a certain theorem, such as the Pythagorean Theorem, but no matter how hard you try you can't remember it. However, you take out a piece of chocolate candy, let's say a chocolate candy bar, and before it reaches your mouth you smell it. Although you eat the chocolate it will be the smell that can cause you to remember that theorem for later. The day of your test, your candy bar is half melted in your backpack and you happen to smell it. Let the smell of that chocolate bring you back to when you were studying that theorem. All of a sudden, the smell of the chocolate has provided you the mental reminder you need to remember that hard to learn theorem for your test.

The Smell & Taste of Chocolate

Of course this theory is just related to chocolate, you can do this with anything, fruit, good smelling incense, or anything else to that effect, but chocolate candy has such a strong and distinctive smell, and it's so addictive, that it will definitely help you remember what you need to if you smell it while you're studying and then smell it again while you're taking a test.

In Moderation

Don't eat too much as it can cause you to put weight on and it's not the greatest thing for you if you eat too much of it. However, if you can manage to just smell it, or get something such as a scratch and sniff sticker that smells like it, you can use that to your advantage. Eaten in moderation, chocolate candy is fine, and it can help you get good grades; but you don't want to sacrifice your weight just to get good grades by constantly eating chocolate. Plus anyone who happens to be allergic to chocolate, better use another treat for this experiment.

Teaching Kids to Cook

Children are often enthralled with the idea of cooking, often at an early age. This interest is often heightened by all the cute kitchen toys they play with, along with their ability to imagine just about anything.

You can find a wide array of pint sized kitchens in the toy store, featuring replicas of common kitchen tools and ingredients. All the kitchen basics can be found, ranging from skillets and saucepans to butter, milk and eggs. Pretending to cook is a great learning experience for little ones who enjoy the culinary arts in their mini kitchens.

The easiest way for kids to get cooking is to start with an Easy Bake oven. Just ask generations of little girls who dreamed of creating a host of tasty and sugary delights right in their bedrooms or play houses. Giving mom a hand with dinner wasn't even a chore. Actually, cooking was fast and easy with the additional helpers. There was always something to do, and baking usually meant getting to lick clean the bowl and spoon.

The majority of kids enjoy playing in the kitchen on occasion. Yet there are some who seem to have a natural affinity for cooking at a young age. And not just spooning out chocolate chip cookie dough onto baking sheets.

You can make cooking simple and fun for these future chefs. They are often interested in the whole meal, and not just dessert. Learning to cook might be more fun to them than any video game system out there.

There are a lot of cookbooks and instructional videos available today that are targeted to kids, and they're loaded with simple, fun recipes. Despite what you might think, not all of these tasty cooking-made-easy formulas are cookies and goodies.

Let your child plan the dinner menu one night, and play the assistant to your little chef. You might be very surprised at how wholesome and healthy most of these recipes really are.

It's so important that you monitor your children carefully in the kitchen as they help out. A sturdy step stool may be better than a chair when they want to be able to see over the counter. Anything going in and out of the oven should be handled by an adult, as well as cooking done over the stove.

Your kids need to be taught about the dangers that can be encountered in the kitchen. Show them how to avoid being hurt, but also what to do in case an injury does occur. You can't be too cautious when it comes to kids safety in the kitchen.

Chocolate Candy Bars - The Perfect Gift

Gift of Chocolate Bars

There are more reasons than one to give a gift to a friend or relative, especially if it is a gift of chocolate bars. We don't need holidays to do this but they are great excuses to give such things as chocolate candy. Giving a chocolate candy bar is a great idea, especially if it is gourmet chocolate. It adds that certain extra touch put into the gift.

Chocolate bars are not just for Valentine’s Day or Easter. They are an excellent choice for parties of all types, fundraisers, as well as for baking. They can even be used for art. Yes, people sculpture with chocolate as well as with butter and ice. So, there is a lot that can be done with chocoalte bars besides eating. Seeing how chocolate bars are made is another fascinating thing too. Log on to any chocolate factory listing and check for the tour section for details.

Maybe milk chocolate bars are not your thing. Discover the different types of chocolate bars available to you. There dark chocolate candy bars, mint chocolate bars, and chocolate almond candy bars, as well as bakers chocolate bars. Be sure to obtain the right ones as some are lactose intolerant and will require milk free chocolate bars.

Do not forget white chocolate for the non traditional person. I have a friend that when I buy chocolate for them it has to be white chocolate or she will not eat it. Picky huh! Hey, everyone has their preferences. And that is the key to making a gift of chocolate bars that much more special is that they see you have put in the effort to make the gift of chocolate bars tailored just for them.

Finally, everyone loves a gift of chocolate. There are some great manufacturers that make chocolate candies, truffles, bars, out of the finest ingredients that far surpass anything at the local convenient store believe me. Almedei, Amore, Lindt to name a few. Most have order minimums, but hey, it is worth it. If you wanted to impress the sweetheart, would you tie a bow on a hershey bar or on a Ghirardelli bar?

Amazon Herbs That Can Save Lives

The Amazon rainforest is situated in South America and is known to be the largest of its kind covering over seven million square kilometers in size. In the Amazon rainforest you can find a variety of herbs, fruits and vegetables that have not been heard of or ever seen by mankind. However, there are also a number of Amazon herbs that are used today for different types of cures and health boosters.

Different Types of Amazon Herbs

There are Amazon herbs to cure a large variety of illnesses from life threatening diseases to minor injuries. Amazon herbs are used for weight loss purposes as well as for improving the skin appearance by curing acne. Most natural herbs will help your body and immune system to recover from a disorder or illness by working with it, strengthening it in the process. Natural herbs don’t cause side effects generally but it is still recommended you consult a doctor before you start any treatment.

Where to Find Amazon Herbs

The best place to look for Amazon herbs is natural stores and homeopathic centers where you will also have the possibility to consult a doctor for a proper consultation and prescription. Natural herbs do not generally cause side effects but you can have a reaction if administered at the same time with contraindicated medications. Therefore you should never self-medicate especially if it is for a serious disease or disorder. Usually having herbal tea in order to sleep well or help your digestive system is a safe thing to do. However, starting a treatment for a life threatening disease without a doctor’s advice can cause you more damage than benefits even if it is a natural herb cure.

Things to Remember

It is important to remember that natural remedies always work with your body and whether it is an Amazon herb or one from China it may take longer than you planed to obtain results, during which time you must be patient and follow the treatment as indicated.

Stopping a treatment midway because you don’t see any results or you stop it because you feel better can in turn eliminate its effects and you may have to start all over again from the beginning. Listen to your body, eat plenty of vegetables and fruits as well as exercise regularly for a healthier, longer and richer life. That is much a slower, albeit the safest route to go.

Enhance Your Cooking Skills By Joining a Creative Cooking School

Enrolling in a cooking class is one of the best ways to improve your culinary skills. Whether you are a seasoned professional, or just starting out, every one can benefit from enrolling in a creative cooking school . You may be able to find a culinary school in your neighborhood to help expand your outlook on food and how it is prepared. You may want to take just one class on a new dish or technique. There are many specialty shops that offer basic cooking classes and on occasion your local upscale grocery store may even offer them.

Learning to use a variety of fresh ingredients instead of canned, packaged or frozen can not only make your meals taste better but they will also be healthier. A cooking school also teaches how to properly slice, dice, and chop (without loosing a finger!)  A cooking class will add to your vocabulary many new words such as "demi glace," "gratineed," and "braising" etc. If you have the right tools and techniques you can serve up some top notch dishes.  Won't your family and friends be surprised.

Several well known and respected chefs now have many of their recipes available online or in beautiful cookbooks.  Many cooking schools have been started by some of these cooks allowing you to learn more about them as well as their unique styles of cooking.  A creative cooking school will encourage you to step out of the box and develop your own fine cooking skills. Perhaps someday we will see you on TV slicing and dicing your way to fame.

Many of us do not have all day to prepare dinner for our families because of work and other obligations. A cooking class provides you with new shortcuts and other techniques to use to help improve the quality and taste of the food and the time it takes to prepare it. Instead of marinating all day on low heat, you could use a crock pot and set it on low when you leave for work in the morning. There is very little to do to finish preparing the meal when you arrive home.

Cooking classes also offer you a way to learn how to shop for and prepare many different ethnic foods. Recipes from far away places are a great way to bring your family together while enjoying preparing and trying them right in your own home. Save the money that would have been spent at a an ethnic restaurant and cook together as a family with the tools and techniques taught at a culinary class.

Main courses are not the only recipes taught at these classes but also classic and impressive desserts. Cooking schools also offer many dessert classes as well. Perhaps all you would like to do is learn how to decorate a cake like a pro. Sign up for a cake decorating class. Cooking classes also emphasize the social aspect of cooking. Sharing a large kitchen at the school with several other students who also enjoy cooking and have a desire to hone their skills is a great place to meet people.

There is another added bonus to cooking classes and schools that you may want to consider. If creative cooking is your passion, these classes could open you up to a new career or business idea. I have met people that came for a specific purpose which had nothing to do with a business, ended up taking what they learned in class and put it to work for them. While at first they did it part-time, they eventually found they had their own very successful business.

If you want learn how to make and decorate a special cake for a family member, cater small dinner parties or possibly do something big like open a restaurant start by enrolling in a creative cooking class.  You will gain all the skills needed to fulfill your desires.

Wine Gift Baskets For All Occasions

Do you have a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion approaching that requires the giving of a gift? Then consider a wine gift basket. They are beautiful gifts for any occasion and can include a wide selection of gourmet delights besides wine. They may also include such delights as fruit, nuts, candy, cheeses and wine accessories like bottle openers and corkscrews, drip stoppers and foil cutters or whatever else you think the recipient may enjoy. They are available already assembled or you can create your own to add that special touch. All you need to know is the style of wine the receiver enjoys, or you can create a surprise basket.

Buying Prepared Baskets

If you'd rather buy a wine gift basket pre packaged, stop into your local liquor store to see if they have a selection available. At holiday times especially, good liquor outlets will often well gift baskets. You should have a range of wines from which to choose and then you can add extra products.

Shop Online

The internet is a great place to order customizable gift baskets. You can start by ordering one or more bottles of wine of your choice, then begin adding complementary products from the wide range available. Products that you could include would be caviar and smoked salmon, cheese or other savory crackers, artisan cheeses, cheese knives, nuts, exclusive mustards or honeys ... there's no limit to what you can add to them.

The online company will then deliver the packaged gift basket to you or directly to the gift recipient. This is a very easy option for a corporate gift or as a thank-you to a member of your staff.

Make Your Own Gift Baskets

Making your own wine gift basket gives allows you to add that extra personal touch. Begin by purchasing an attractive basket. Even a simple and inexpensive basket will do because you can then decorate it with silk flowers or colored tissue paper. Buy your wine of choice or choose champagne for a special celebration, add some additional products depending on the preferences of the gift recipient. For example, it's not necessary to limit your basket to wine and wine-themed gifts. You could include handicrafts for someone interested in arts and crafts, or a book about wine for a wine lover who is also interested in the history or the making of wine. Select some additional gourmet delights to accompany the wine, pack it all into the well-decorated basket and wrap the entire package in clear cellophane.

Personally deliver the gift basket to the recipient if you can so you can see the joy when they receive it. If you're lucky he or she might even share the bottle of wine with you.

For the non-wine drinker you can still put together a stunning gift basket. For a coffee drinker you could try a coffee-themed gift basket that could include coffee mugs, freshly roasted coffee beans from different coffee-growing regions of the world, gourmet cookies, toffees and, nuts. A tea drinker may like to receive a selection of teas from different regions, a teapot and strainer and a fine china teacup. A tea or coffee gift basket could, in fact, be packed onto a decorated tray rather that a basket. Again, wrap the entire package in clear cellophane and tie a ribbon around it.

The ideas for gourmet gift baskets are only limited by your imagination.

The Bottled Drinking Water Company

Now that more and more people are starting to take notice in their health, there is an increase in profit for the bottled drinking water company. There is no doubt about it, the bottled drinking water company is making a lot of money off of something so simple such as water. But the question that is on the minds of everyone is whether or not it is really a safe drinking water bottle because of the chemicals within the plastic. Some people say there is nothing to worry about while others claim that the bottled drinking water company knows that the water is contaminated.

As of right now though, there is no hard evidence that the bottled drinking water company is aware of any true problems with drinking their water on a regular basis. But a person does have to wonder just where exactly are these companies getting their water and is it really any better then the water you would get through a filtered tap? There are a lot of products on the market for filters that attach to the faucet in the kitchen and they may do just as good if not better then the bottled drinking water company.

What You Can Do

If you want to be the judge for yourself and see if the bottled drinking water company that you are using regularly is better then the water you can get from your faucet, there are things you can do. There are kits out there on the market that can help you test not only your tap water, but also the water from the bottled drinking water company. You can take those two tests and compare to see how much better the water from the bottled drinking water company is for you and your overall health.

Then, if you get a filter attachment for your home sink and test that water, you can then test it against the water from the bottled drinking water company. In the end, you may be surprised to see which of the waters is better and safer for you to drink. You may find that you can save yourself a lot of money filtering your own water instead of paying the bottled drinking water company for water that you could have gotten yourself. Do the tests and make a decision for yourself and in the end you will be much better off health wise and pocket book wise.

For Better Grilling, Try BBQ Wood Chips

Take a tip from the experts: use BBQ wood chips to spice up your grilling. If you're a master BBQ chef, then you probably know the fine benefits of BBQ wood chips. However, lots of people don't have a clue why this product is so popular.

Wood chips are very small pieces of wood that are added to your BBQ to create smoke. If you are not using a wood fire to cook your food, then the only way you are going to get a true smoke flavor is by adding wood to your fire.

BBQ wood chips take your grilling to a whole new level. Whether you have an electric, gas or charcoal BBQ you can add wood chips to get authentic barbecue flavor. There are special smoker boxes that can be placed in your gas and charcoal grills to add that special wood smoke flavor. Read the instructions for your particular grill before you try doing this.

The key to using wood chips is to not let them burn too quickly. The resulting heavy smoke will spoil your food with an acrid taste. By soaking wood chips in water for about 15 minutes you can slow down the combustion and lengthen the time in which the smoke is created. Before you use them, though, let the wood chips "drip dry" for a few minutes before you add them to your fire. You want the wood moist, not dripping wet.

When using a small smoker in your grill you don't necessarily have to soak your BBQ wood chips first. Although soaked wood chips burn longer, if you are cooking a steak you might not need them to burn for that long.

Wood smoking chips or BBQ wood chips are available in a wide variety of flavors. They go from mesquite and hickory all the way to cabernet. The stores that sell BBQ wood chips will have flavor guides to help you wade your way through the new age of wood chips.

In general, if your meat is lighter, you'll need a milder wood chip flavor. You can also try "heavier" flavors with lighter meats, though, such as using mesquite with chicken, but start with fewer wood chips.

Alder wood chips have a mild flavor and are recommended for use with seafood and pork. The flavorful fruitwoods go best with veal, poultry and pork. These types of woods include cherry or apple.

Hickory or maple wood chips are strongly flavored and should be used with poultry, pork or beef. Lamb, duck and beef also are great meats to use with mesquite wood chips, while beef or ham go well with oak wood chips, which is another strong flavor.

But remember that barbecuing is all about the meat. If you don't have a good piece of meat, there is no wood chip in existence that will make your meat taste any better. Make sure you have a good cut that is fresh and well prepared.

So the next time you decide to grill a great piece of meat consider using some of these BBQ wood chips and savor the great flavor and aroma coming off your grill.

More On Milk Chocolate

Milk chocolate, as it is called, is simply chocolate from the cacoa bean that has been mixed with sugar, and cacoa butter, and then mixed with condensed milk or milk powder.  There are other additives that a manufacturer may add to give it their signature, but that is the basics of it.

Everyone in the world has been effected by milk chocolate in one way or another since its invention centuries ago. Being taken form South America, constantly perfected in Europe, until it has become a world phenomena. But I have no problem with that, do you? We use it for everything we can use it for. Cookies, cakes, cereals, beverages, toppings, flavorings, decorations, etc., chocolate has its place in history for good.

Is Milk Chocolate Healthy?

It is said in a study that the average American eats 10-12 pounds of chocolate every single year. They have never met me. It is also known that eating chocolate is rich in Phenols(antioxidants) which is good for the heart. Millions of pounds of milk is used every year in the production of milk chocolate.

Yes, to a degree. Ok, so the health benefits of milk chocolate are not as many as dark chocolate, however, there still some to be considered. It is a stimulator, to the brain, to the emotions, thus, increasing your stamina. Of course, moderation, because it is high in fat content and sugar. Point to be taken here is we need fat in our diet, seriously, and milk chocolate can be a great source for that fat percentage, just not all of it should come from eating milk chocolate. Be sure to read the nutritional section of each chocolate substance you obtain so you know what you have to eat or bake with - very important.

There are milk chocolate bars, milk chocolate fondue mixes and hardware, chocolate drinks, like hot chocolate and etc. There are many great recipe books that can teach you what to do with milk chocolate if you are fresh out of ideas and feel a bit overwhelmed. Just start reading and let the imagination roll. Some of the best milk chocolate recipes have come from the laboratory so to speak. Perhaps you will be the next Thomas Edison of milk chocolate.

Convert A Closet Into A Mini Wine Cellar

When you are passionate about wine you start to collect it … and when you begin collecting it you need a place to store it.

A closet can easily be turned into a mini wine cellar to store your growing wine collection.

Before you begin converting your closet into a wine cellar consider the position of the closet relative to the rest of the house.

Avoid converting a cupboard against an outside wall into a wine closet. The outer walls of your home can often be subjected to wide temperature fluctuations across the seasons. Select an internal closet where your wine can be stored in a stable atmosphere.

The speed and the degree of the temperature change are critical elements to successfully storing and aging wine. A gradual change of a few degrees between summer and winter shouldn't be a cause for concern. A similar change each day will hurt your wines and age them too quickly.

A major rule when storing wine is to avoid large (or quick) temperature changes. You'll be aware of this damage straight away from the sticky deposit that often forms around the capsule. Over time the continual expansion and contraction of the wine will damage the integrity of the cork. It's just like having the cork removed and replaced every day. When this occurs, tiny quantities of wine can be pushed out along the edge of the cork (between the cork and the bottle neck) allowing air to seep back in. Once the air is in contact with your wine the irreversible process of oxidation begins and your wine is ruined.

At 55º to 58ºF the wine will age with grace, enabling it to develop fully. Higher temperatures will age wine more rapidly and cooler temperatures will slow down the ageing process. Irreversible damage will occur if your wine is stored at a temperature above 82ºF for a month or more.

The most difficult part of creating a wine cellar in a closet can be finding other places to store the original contents of the closet! You should be ruthless ... remove all the present contents (give away / auction / move them) and start with an empty closet!

Wine racks can be purchased quite inexpensively from a hardware store, online retailer or storage shop and you'll have a simple but very effective mini wine cellar.

Wine rack designs will vary in bottle density; price variations are more to do with aesthetics than efficiency.

Individual racking makes it easy to select bottles. If you place racks against only one wall of the closet you may still have floor or shelf space available for wines that you purchase by the case.

Make Your Own Milk Chocolate Fondue

Shop for Milk Chocolate Fondue

Talk about a child's dream dessert, milk chocolate fondue is just a kid's bliss. Minus the alcohol that might go into some recipes of course. I feel like I am in Charlie's Chocolate Factory looking at that stream of chocolate. Milk chocolate fondue can be made with any type of chocolate really, Belgian chocolate, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate. There are inexpensive ways of making it. You can buy it from a well known vendor or make it yourself with homemade ingredients. And, what's a chocolate fondue without some fondue dippers, like strawberries, bananas, pineapple, pound cake, and pecan, almonds, and anything else I suppose you could spear with a fondue fork.

They rank number one in the search engine and make one mean milk chocolate fondue, that is, Betty Crocker. When you think of baking and dessert making you think, Betty Crocker right? Their products are top quality and also very affordable. You can take the quick route to getting milk chocolate fondue, by purchasing from Betty Crocker. They have a great recipe for Chocolate Sour Cream Fondue as well.

Another great option for fondue is Nestle. They have such recipes as chocolate peanut butter smores fondue, a spiced chocolate fondue. Many of these brands offer advice on how to prepare such chocolate fondues, especially if you do not have a recipe book for them. Milk chocolate fondue is always delicious and a great treat to serve to guests at a special occasion.

Also keep in mind that by going with dark chocolate fondue over the milk chocolate versions, you will be receiving many health benefits. Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants, which are able to fight off free radicals in the body. There is also the absence of milk in pure dark chocolate, which is beneficial to many lactose free individuals.

Remember, if you are making your own milk chocolate fondue, there needs to be a liquid mixed with the morsels or else they will stick to the pan and scortch. Some use half and half, others evaporated milk with other substances, spices, etc. This is key to creating a rich, creamy, chocolate fondue for all your family and guests to enjoy. Make a few weekend tryouts before serving for a special event in order to get the process right and perfected.

Many places have incredible recipes for making chocolate fondue, such as local stores, online stores, and personal websites posting some old-fashioned recipes. If you are in the market for something specific, then do some searching, if elogance is your goal. Remember, chocolate is chocolate, it is all about how it is prepared that elevates it above the norm. Presentation is also another factor. This is as important as preparation. Which you can use a good melting pot, or 2-quart household pot to prepare, add all the right ingredients. Then presentation takes it from there. But, when you are done, it is still chocolate, whatever type you chose. I worked in salad and desserts in an Italian restaurant some years ago, and I remember how big presentation was.

I will prove to you that is a big part of making chocolate fondue. How do you feel everytime you look at a website displaying it? It catches the eye, it has appeal, I want to make that, you say, right? Focus on preparation first, then presentation last. If it is made right, it will taste right, then it can be made to look right. Enjoy!
